My artifact is a scrapbook my grandmother made for me when I was 12. In it, are pictures from all the way back of my great-grandmother, to current day, a picture of my family. The history behind my artifact is mostly personal, by showing family trees and how items of importance are passed down throughout generations. It also shows how photography changed, since the oldest pictures are black and white, and nearing the 21st century they become colored. Here, we already have a glimpse of how better quality in photography helped affect life and how well news and events got across. For theme, I believe this really shows the pursuit of the American Dream because, my ancestors were very poor and always attempted to make the best of their situation ( Argentina). It slowly shows how my family attempted the American Dream, and eventually made it, as seen with my family and generation. It really is a dream that is shared around the world, to give their children a better education, a safer home, a secure income, and overall, the life and family they deserve.
